Diogo Jota's wife sends 'clown' message to officials after Liverpool controversy at Tottenham
Diogo Jota's wife, Rute Cardoso, has taken aim at Premier League officials as the fallout from the VAR controversy against Tottenham Hotspur continues.
Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool side were left infuriated on Saturday when a Luis Diaz goal was wrongly ruled out for offside. The Reds also finished the game with nine men after Curtis Jones and Jota were given their matching orders.
Jones came in with a tackle on Yves Bissouma and was initially shown a yellow by referee Simon Hooper. However, following a VAR review, the booking was upgraded to a red card.
Jota, meanwhile, was shown his first yellow card just after the hour mark after a possible trip on Destiny Udogie; however, replays appeared to show the Spurs man tripped himself. The Portugal international was then given his marching orders for an attempted swipe on Udogie.

Following the game, Rute took to social media to call out Hooper and the PGMOL for their decision making.
First, she reshared a video of Jota's first foul on Udogie - with an added clown emoji seemingly directed at those who made the call.
A second post, later deleted, showed the initial statement released by the PGMOL to explain the incident - and made it clear Rute was not buying it.
Speaking about Jota’s sending off post-match, Reds boss Klopp said: “The two situations; the first I think is clear not a yellow.
“The second I didn’t see actually back but it’s not important. If the first is not a yellow then we still play with 10 men.”
