'Doesn't look good' - Jurgen Klopp gives Joel Matip, Diogo Jota and Alisson Becker Liverpool injury updates

Jurgen Klopp is fearful of a lengthy injury lay-off for Joel Matip as Liverpool await the results of a scan for the defender.

Matip pulled up during the second half of Sunday's eventful 4-3 win over Fulham and was replaced by Ibrahima Konate before two late goals sealed a victory over Marco Silva's men.

Klopp confirmed after the game that Matip had injured his knee and while the Reds boss revealed in his Tuesday press conference that the centre-back is still awaiting a further prognosis, he admits he is concerned it will be a long time out of the team for a player who is out of contract at the end of the season.

"I don't know the exact [timescale] but it doesn't look good," said, whose Liverpool side head to Sheffield United on Wednesday. "That is something we can say. The scan is not done yet so we don't know exactly but it is not great.

"From the first minute it was clear. I spoke to him and said: 'Ah no, that is not good'. But how long [he will be injured for], we don't know."

Klopp also confirmed that Diogo Jota is edging closer to a return to full training after a muscle issue picked up against Manchester City but Alisson Becker's comeback won't come at Sheffield United.

He added: "Diogo was running yesterday (Monday) outside, on his birthday and everything is going in the right direction but no-one told me he will be back in team training. It will be some time. Obviously Alisson is closer but not for tomorrow, definitely."
