Tottenham Hotspur face Liverpool this weekend looking to continue their impressive start to life under Ange Postecoglou. Spurs currently find themselves fourth in the Premier League table after winning four of their opening six games.
Postecoglou's men come into Saturday night's meeting with Liverpool with a full week's rest after crashing out of the Carabao Cup earlier in the competition. Their opponents were in action on Wednesday, beating Leicester City 3-1, meaning they have had only two days of recovery.
Confidence is flowing in north London and victory over Jurgen Klopp's side would only add to the feel-good factor around the club. However, Postecoglou will be without one key player for the visit of Liverpool.
Wales international Brennan Johnson will be out, the Australian confirmed. «From last week, Brennan will miss out — it's nothing too serious but he won't be right for this week,» Postecoglou said.
The forward was handed a place in the Spurs starting XI in last week's North London Derby, lasting 63 minutes before being replaced by Manor Solomon. His absence leaves a spot open for Richarlison or Solomon to start against Liverpool.
Postecoglou did confirm, however, that both James Maddison and Son Heung-min had trained on Friday and they could retain their spots for tomorrow. «Madders and Sonny trained today, just finished the session and seemed to get through it not too bad,» the Spurs boss said.
