Chris Sutton thinks that Harry Kane is often not noticed when it comes to diving and he believes that the former Tottenham striker is one of the worst he's ever seen for dramatics.
The subject of diving became a hot topic on this week's episode of Mail Sport's podcast It's All Kicking Off. This was after Kai Havertz was lucky not to get a second yellow card during Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Brentford, as he was accused of trying a buy a foul. Brentford's manager, Thomas Frank, said that Havertz shouldn't have been playing when he scored the winning goal late in the game at the Emirates. This sparked a chat about who the worst culprits were in football.
The Premier League has had many players who have brought diving into the spotlight — this started when Jurgen Klinsmann was accused of falling down too easily when he joined Tottenham in 1995. Mail reporter Ian Ladyman named his top five footballers who he thinks dive the most, and it wasn't a shock that Klinsmann was on his list — in fifth place.
In fourth place was Cristiano Ronaldo, followed by Luis Suarez, Rivaldo and Ashley Young in first place. But Sutton was confused by some of the players his co-host left out who he thought were famous for diving, saying it was 'scandalous' he had missed out two big names.
«I'm just going to mention two quick ones who you've left out,» Sutton said. «Scandalous how you've left them out. Bruno Fernandes. One of the worst. And the winner by a country mile, but you can't call him out because he's England captain, Harry Kane. He's the worst diver.
