Ibrahima Konate gave a telling response when asked whether Liverpool would sign Kylian Mbappe following his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old's contract expires with the Ligue 1 club at the end of the season, and the former AS Monaco attacker has reportedly expressed his desire to move on to new pastures. Should Mbappe leave the club, it will end a long-running saga surrounding the Frenchman's future following his seven-year spell at the Parc des Princes.
In the summer, Mbappe was subject to a reported £259million bid from Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League, which was rejected by the Parisiens. The forward has been a long-term target of Real Madrid with Liverpool frequently linked with the striker's services

However, there is a growing consensus that the La Liga giants will add to their list of global stars. And now Konate has dismissed any possibility of a Premier League move for Mbappe. Speaking to Canal+, he said: "Do you really think he is going to come over here? I think we all know where he is going to go."
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was among the Premier League managers to face questions about the Frenchman before Saturday's 4-1 win over Brentford. But the departing German dismissed the talks, claiming he'd be "surprised" if all the top clubs were interested.
"Obviously, I’m not involved in that, but I can tell you I’d be surprised if all the top clubs were [in for him]," he said. “The top clubs I know, for most of them, it will be tricky - wages, signing-on fee."
