Liverpool Women ramped up their pre-season preparations on Wednesday with a trip to Women's Super League (WSL) rivals Manchester United.
Matt Beard's side went into Wednesday’s clash in search of their first pre-season victory, having so far suffered narrow defeats to Birmingham City, Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.
The Reds started brightly at Carrington before a quickfire double from Ella Toone put the hosts firmly in control of the contest, with United summer signing Geyse rubber-stamping the win with a superb strike in the second half.
The Brazilian's effort came after Natasha Flint had pulled one back for the Reds, tapping home on the stroke of half time after some excellent work from Emma Koivisto down the right flank. Flint went close again after the break but it wasn't to be for Liverpool, who now have less than three weeks before they return to WSL action against Arsenal at the Emirates.
