Liverpool-linked Bruno Guimaraes has reportedly agreed a new five-year contract with Newcastle United - which will include a release clause in the region of £100m.
The 25-year-old Brazil international made the move to St James' Park in January 2022, just months after a Saudi-backed consortium had taken over the club, and was instrumental in the Magpies ending their 20-year-old exile from the Champions League as they secured a fourth-place finish in the Premier League ahead of Liverpool in May.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle have agreed to extend the midfielder's contract, which is due to expire in June 2026, but have included a release clause in the "region of £100m", with the Reds and Real Madrid both heavily linked with a move for Guimaraes in 2023.

"Somebody at [Manchester] City said similar, they can't believe Newcastle got that deal - they think that's going to look like an absolute steal and it already is."
