Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu has opened the door for a transfer away from the Italian club amid speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool.
A product of the famous FC Nordsjaelland academy, Dorgu only moved to Lecce during the summer of 2022. He spent his first season in Italy, playing exclusively for the club’s under-19 side.
However, the left-back made his senior debut for Lecce last month and has since gone on to make five appearances in Serie A and one appearance in the Coppa Italia. And it appears that his potential has not gone unnoticed, with leading clubs from across Europe already being linked with a move.
Asked about the speculation linking him with a move to a number of European giants, Dorgu said: “I really just take it as motivation, that when the big teams look at me, it is because I am doing the right thing and must continue. Then it’s just a matter of time before the big teams come knocking.”

When pushed further on a move away, Dorgu, who is under contract at the Stadio Ettore Giardiniero - Via del Mare until the summer of 2027, revealed Chelsea is the club of his dreams.
“Chelsea is my dream to play for,” he told Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet. “I have been a fan of them for over 10 years, so it would be a huge dream to play for them.”
Speaking earlier this summer, Dorgu’s agent revealed that Liverpool are one of a number of clubs interested in signing his client.
He told Danish outlet Bold: "Liverpool want him. Liverpool have been watching him and interested in him for some time, but if he goes there, he’ll have to play in the U23 team.
