Liverpool legend fumes over Kai Havertz decision during Arsenal vs Brentford
Liverpool legend Jason McAteer believes Kai Havertz was lucky to not be shown a second yellow card just moments before his winning goal against Brentford.
The German international appeared to hit the ground a little too easily following a challenge from Nathan Collins, in which referee Paul Tierney opted to be lenient. Much to the frustration of Bees' boss Thomas Frank in the aftermath, Havertz then went on to score a late winner that kept Arsenal's title hopes alive in the process.
Already booked after hitting the floor in the 65th minute, McAtee was adamant in his analysis with beIN SPORTS post-match, insisting that the decision was not the correct one.

«I agree with [Dwight] Yorke that it was such a big decision for such a pivotal moment in the game,» began the 52-year-old former Liverpool man. «It was late in the game, late on, and it is wrong isn't it?»
Havertz, who found the net vitally with just four minutes remaining at the Emirates Stadium, kept Mikel Arteta's side's title hopes alive, with the Gunners still in the mix at the top of the Premier League table with only a mere ten games remaining.
«I’m so happy,» echoed Arteta regarding Havertz in his post-match press conference on Saturday. «If somebody told me after the first two or three months that the whole stadium would be singing his song with that passion, with that feeling with that chemistry, I would have found it hard to believe. That’s what happens to good people. He's an exceptional player.»
