Liverpool will have to break a final day fixture jinx if they want to win the Premier League title. The Reds, who are only behind Arsenal on goal difference after drawing with Manchester City last week, are keen to clinch the title in Jurgen Klopp's last season as manager.
Since Klopp took over in 2015, Liverpool have only won the league once. They've come second twice, third once and fourth twice.
Klopp is hoping to take them back to the top this season although it will not be easy. That's because since 2018, teams playing against Wolves on the last day of the season have struggled to win the title. And, of course, Liverpool welcome Wolves to Anfield on May 19.
This might worry some of the more superstitious players. Four out of the last five teams to face Wolves on the final day didn't win the title.
The jinx started in the 2018/2019 season when Liverpool beat Wolves 2-0 but ended up second, just one point behind City. The next year, Chelsea beat Wolves but finished fourth.
Manchester United followed suit with a 2-1 win at Molineux, but finished second, 12 points behind champions City. Liverpool were then cursed in 2022, when a dominant 3-1 victory wasn't enough to prevent them finishing second, a point off City.

And finally last year, Arsenal thrashed Wolves 5-0 at the Emirates, but again finished second, five points behind the champions. Following Sunday's draw, Klopp is urging his team to stay focused.
