And he has grown in prominence with the wider Liverpool fanbase having trained several times with Jurgen Klopp's first team, the latest session of which was on Friday.
Despite some neat touches and obvious comfort in possession, Nyoni's tender years were evident here against a physically-imposing Hammers side. Frustration got the better of him with a first-half booking, but this was another major landmark in his fledgling career.
Nyoni was one of three 16-year-olds in a young Liverpool starting line-up, along with the centre-back pairing Amara Nallo - another summer arrival, playing against his former club - and Carter Pinnington.
