Olympique Lyonnais will reject a third offer from RB Leipzig for their defender Castello Lukeba (20), according to Foot Mercato. The Red Bull club’s third offer for the French U21 international is worth a reported €32m.
In response to Leipzig’s bid, OL have indicated that they want much more than the €32m that has been offered for their academy graduate. The Rhone club are not impressed with the DFB Pokal winners’ third attempt to purchase Lukeba and are reluctant to sell the centre back this summer.Lyon are currently under DNCG transfer restrictions and would find it hard to replace Lukeba should he leave the Groupama Stadium this summer.
Despite seeing their third bid for Lukeba rebuffed, Leipzig are not deterred in their attempts to sign the defender. The East German club could return with a new bid to sign their top defensive target but will not overpay for Lukeba. As things stand, the France youth international is preparing to begin the season with Lyon, who face off against RC Strasbourg Alsace in their Ligue 1 opener.
