Manchester City 'to open talks over new Phil Foden contract'

The 23-year-old has been in fine form this season, netting 18 goals and providing 10 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

Foden still has over three years remaining on his current deal, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2027.

However, the Man City academy product is hoping to secure a pay rise that would bring him in line with the club's highest earners.

The attacker is reportedly earning around £200,000 a week after signing his most recent contract extension in October 2022.

With Foden looking to extend his stay with the Citizens, there is also a willingness from the club to agree a new deal with one of their key players.
