Like many Premier League clubs, the January transfer window has much resting on it for Chelsea. For many, Mauricio Pochettino needs a new centre-forward to come and end the Blues' woes in front of goal.
The race for Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney has boiled over in recent weeks and it's expected both Napoli and Brentford will demand as close to £100million as possible. However, there have been calls for Robert Sanchez to be replaced despite only joining the club in the summer.
Sanchez joined Marc Cucurella, Graham Potter and Moises Caicedo in leaving Brighton & Hove Albion for a move to Stamford Bridge. Kepa Arrizabalaga's temporary move to Real Madrid and Edouard Mendy's exit to Saudi Arabia left the number one spot open and Sanchez has been Pochettino's first choice.
However, the Spaniard has managed only three clean sheets and has faced backlash for some of his goals conceded this season. Step in, Mike Maignan.
According to Footmercato, Chelsea are joined by Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich in the list of clubs monitoring the goalkeeper's situation at AC Milan. Maignan is yet to sign a new deal in Italy, despite months of negotiations, and the delay in a salary increase could see him leave the club.
football.london says: At 28, Maignan would be a world-class signing for Chelsea. A brilliant shot-stopper with another five years left at the top level.
