Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah could be out for up to a month after his agent provided a worrying fitness update. The 31-year-old picked up an injury during the AFCON showdown between Egypt and Ghana.
Salah is preparing to return to Anfield for treatment on that setback. However, while it was initially expected that he would jet back to the Ivory Coast to re-join his national team, that plan is now in doubt.
"Mohamed's injury is more serious than first thought and he will be out for 21-28 days, not two games," said agent Ramy Abbas Issa on renamed social media platform X. "His best chance at participating in the current AFCON is by undergoing intensive rehabilitation in the UK and then re-joining the [Egypt] team as soon as he is fit."

Cape Verde top Group B with a perfect record from two games and The Pharaohs - without Salah on and off the pitch - are due to play them next.
Naturally, the news and subsequent developments have had Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool sweating. Although they could have been without Salah until mid-February due to his international commitments, the Reds might now not be able to call upon his services even if Egypt are eliminated from AFCON at the group-stage.
The AFCON final is penned in for Sunday, February 11. In a worst-case scenario as outlined by his agent, Salah might not recover from his injury until Monday, February 19 - 28 days from now.
