Liverpool fans could be set for a bit more of a wait until they see Mohamed Salah back in action with the forward facing a race against time to be fit for his country.
Salah has returned to Liverpool to undergo rehabilitation for a hamstring injury he picked up during Egypt's second group game against Ghana. His decision to return to England has promoted some criticism in his home country.
The Liverpool forward has now responded with a vow. He wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Yesterday I started the treatment and rehabilitation program.
“And I will do everything possible to be ready as soon as possible and return to the national team as was agreed upon from the beginning... I also love it and its people... try harder.”

As he undergoes rehabilitation here's a look at everything surrounding the situation regarding his injury and his potential return date for both Egypt and Liverpool.
It was initially thought that Salah would miss just two of Egypt's games due to the injury, but it later became apparent that the injury was worse than first thought. Salah now faces three to four weeks on the sidelines and has returned to Liverpool to undergo his rehabilitation.
Egypt are still hopeful that the forward will have a part to play in their AFCON campaign. His return to Liverpool was to give the player the best chance of featuring again in the competition.
But it is a race against time. The final of AFCON is on February 11, three and a half weeks
