Real Madrid winger Vinicius said on Thursday after receiving the Trophy for the Best Ibero-American Player of the Year 2023, that this award is important in his sporting life, because he "works every day" to achieve "his best version and help the team".
"The team helps me to win individual awards and I have to thank my teammates. I want to continue like this to win more titles," he said. "It is an honour for me to be on this list alongside many football legends.
"I want to keep working to keep winning and for my name to appear in the history of this club. I'm happy for everything I'm doing this season and I hope we can continue like this to win titles for Real Madrid," he added.
Vinicius won this trophy for the second year in a row. EFE president Miguel Angel Oliver praised Vinicius, recalling illustrious players who have lifted this Cup before him - Roberto Carlos, Casemiro, he noted that he is not only a Real Madrid and Brazilian national team player, but also a world football heritage.
"You are aamazing, followed and admired by your fans at the Santiago Bernabeu, and also worldwide. Congratulations, Vinicius," Oliver said at the award ceremony.
The Brazilian player scored 23 goals last season and played a key role in winning the 2023 Club World Cup.
