Arsenal given triple Newcastle United injury update ahead of Premier League clash

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has some good news on the injury front as three key players return to training before their match against Arsenal this week.

Arsenal host Newcastle at theEmirates Stadium in Saturday's 8pm kick-off. The Gunners will look to again close the gap on Liverpool at the top of the table after the Reds came out as 4-1 winners over Luton Town on Wednesday night to extend their lead to five points.

Ahead of the game, it seems like Newcastle's injury worries are slowly fading. As reported by ChronicleLive, Alexander Isak and Joe Willock, who have been dealing with groin and Achilles problems respectively, are back in action.

The two attackers have been participating in recent training sessions and are expected to make their much-anticipated returns this weekend. Isak was a doubt for a place on the bench for last weekend's draw with Bournemouth but ultimately missed out.

Willock has had a tough time on the sidelines after experiencing a setback from a previous issue, limiting him to just three appearances in the Premier League this season. «He's knocking on the door, very close, looking good and feeling much better,» said Howe about the former Gunners starlet last Friday.

There's also positive news from the defence, with Fabian Schar joining group training this week after he left the field with his arm in a makeshift sling last Saturday. The Swiss defender injured his wrist in the final minute of the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth after blocking a shot with his arm.
