Gary Neville has taken to X to poke fun at Arsenal fans following gabriel magalhaes' opener against Crystal Palace at the Emirates.
Arsenal face Roy Hodgson's side in indifferent form and will be looking to revitalise their title hopes with a commanding home win.
Brazil centre back Gabriel gave Mikel Arteta's side the perfect start when he powered home a header from Martin Odegaard's corner.
However Neville has screenshotted a still from the coverage and took to social media to ask Arsenal fans if it was a foul.
This was in reference to the controversy surrounding Anthony Gordon's winner against Arsenal earlier in the season.
Gordon's winner for Newcastle United on November 4 was awarded only after a rare triple check by the Video Assistant Referees.
VAR Andy Madley and assistant VAR Stuart Burt checked whether Joe Willock managed to keep the ball in play in the lead-up to the goal, whether Joelinton fouled Gabriel while knocking the ball back across, and whether Gordon was offside as he scored.
Neville goes on to interact with a fan who replied: 'You’re just proving our point that your a hypocrite. Happens against us. You have no issue with it, Happens for is. You immediately comment on it crying. You’re truly pathetic.'
The former Manchester United rightback replied quickly with: 'No mate I don’t think it’s a foul like I didn’t at Newcastle.'
Arsenal have had a torrid relationship with VAR this season, and even released a statement saying the club backed their manager after 'yet more unacceptable refereeing and VAR errors.'
Gunners boss Arteta had previously labelled the decision to let the goal stand 'embarrassing' and 'a disgrace.'
The full VAR audio was released on the Match Officials Mic'd Up show with referees' chief
