Gary Neville sends three-word message to Jamie Carragher as Jürgen Klopp confirms Liverpool exit
Jamie Carragher wrote a heartfelt tribute to Jürgen Klopp after the Liverpool boss announced he was stepping down, and Gary Neville couldn't resist trolling his Sky Sports colleague
Gary Neville has had a laugh at Jamie Carragher after hearing that Jürgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool. Klopp announced he would be saying goodbye to being the boss of Liverpool after nine years on Friday (January 26), having admitted to being too tired to keep going.
Klopp has won lots of trophies with Liverpool, including a first Premier League and a Champions League, and is still in the hunt for more silverware this season. Fans were left shocked by the news when it emerged on Friday morning.
Former Manchester United captain Neville seemed pretty happy about it though as he trolled Liverpool fans and Carragher on Instagram. He posted a picture of himself alongside Carragher and joked, "Klopp's leaving do," with a thumbs up.
Carragher, meanwhile, felt sad when he heard the news. He wrote in The Telegraph: "My heart sank [with the news]. I genuinely thought it was some kind of hoax, or cruel joke. He added: "Klopp changed people's lives, recreating the European glory nights synonymous with Anfield. The rest of the season will be highly emotional.
"Rather than immediate disruption, my instinct is that the team and club will be carried towards its goals on a wave of passion. The atmosphere at Anfield in the title run-in was already guaranteed to be electric. Can you imagine what it will be like now?"
