Kaizer Chiefs have been reminded about the quality that Brazilian coach Alexandre Gallo can bring to the club.
Gallo was contacted by Chiefs late last year and had a conference call with the club authorities with regards to the job.
However, the talks haven’t been fruitful as yet with Gallo continuing with his job at Brazilian club Santos in Sao Paulo where he works as the technical manager.
Yet another low point for fading Chiefs
Gallo (56) worked under former Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Alberto Parreira at Corinthians and then won the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A (Brazilian Championship) as assistant to Vanderlei Luxemburgo at Santos.
"Gallo would have definitely been a perfect fit for Chiefs based on what I have seen of his work," says Pio Nogueira – who played for Chiefs and Orlando Pirates tells KickOff.com from Brazil.
"I heard that he was talking to Chiefs, but I don’t know what happened of the talks because Gallo is still in his job at Santos.
"Gallo is a UEFA licence holder with all the experience needed to revive Chiefs.
"Based on what I have seen of his teams he likes to play beautiful football.
"I would say he is comparable to how Pep Guardiola’s team plays at Manchester City.
"From what I know Gallo would have been perfect for Chiefs or maybe he will if he happens to come in future.
"Chiefs deserve better than what they have been getting in recent years with no trophies won.
"I played for Chiefs, so I know the culture there is that of winning trophies and not what is happening now," says Nogueira.

Gallo’s coaching career has taken him to Corinthians, Gremio, Santos, Internacional, Portuguesa, Botafogo, and Figueirense amongst several Brazilian clubs.
