Mail Sport's Jack Gaughan assesses how each player from both sides got on.
TOTTENHAM (4-2-3-1)
Guglielmo Vicario – 6.5
Smart late save from Bernardo Silva. Perhaps a little fortunate that City’s early goal was chalked off for offside.
Pedro Porro - 7
Huge block to deny Oscar Bobb late in the first half. Crucial to the way Spurs play under Postecoglou by moving into midfield.
Micky van de Ven - 7
Superb diving block to prevent Julian Alvarez scoring the opening minutes after half time.
Cristian Romero - 6
Often the spare man so able to attack balls, which is his forte. A few crunching challenges.
Destiny Udogie - 7
A few very nervous moments early doors but did grow into the game after he settled down.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - 6
Has history in this fixture and relishes the challenge of ruffling Man City in midfield. Horrible late mistake almost gifted City a winner.
Rodrigo Bentancur - 6
Could’ve used the ball better but his intelligence is integral in the middle of the park.
Brennan Johnson – 6.5
Forever a threat down the right against Josko Gvardiol but lacking that consistent end product in the final third.
Dejan Kulusevski - 6
Unusually quiet. Spurs just couldn’t quite find him in those dangerous pockets of space in which he thrives.
Timo Werner – 6.5
A fairly anonymous contribution up against Kyle Walker before the break, although much improved after.
Richarlison – 5.5
Spent a lot of the night chasing lost causes and wasn’t afforded much support by those behind him.
