Rangers offer Muslim fans chance to observe Ramadan during Benfica clash at Ibrox
Rangers have made special provisions for their Muslim supporters during Thursday night’s clash with Benfica.
The Ibrox giants take on the Portuguese powerhouses in Govan with a place in the Europa League quarter-finals the prize. As the match takes place during the Holy Islamic festival of Ramadan, some Rangers fans would find it difficult to come to the stadium were it not for the allowances the club – in conjunction with the newly-formed Rangers Fan Advisory Board – have made.
They have announced Muslim supporters will be able to leave the stadium during half time and walk into the Rangers Store before being provided with a space to pray, a bottle of water and a vegetarian sandwich before being allowed access back into the ground for the resumption of the second half.
