Bayern Munich's decision to part ways with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season was brought about by a number of reasons - including falling out with senior players - according to reports from Germany.
Wednesday saw the news break that the former Chelsea boss would leave the Bavarian titans in summer, with the German coming under increasing pressure after recent poor form.
Having lost 3-0 to title rivals Bayer Leverkusen Tuchel is on the verge of becoming the man to see Bayern's 11-year Bundesliga winning run end - a title that he will be desperate to avoid in the last few months of his reign.
Tuchel was brought in in a state of near-emergency last season when the club decided to axe Julian Nagelsmann, however within his first full term as boss he has been shown the door.
Reports from German outlet Bild claim that there were myriad causes for Bayern to part ways with Tuchel, mainly his falling out with key players at the club, namely stand-in captain in the absence of Manuel Neuer Joshua Kimmich.
Kimmich is being linked with a move away from the club this summer, which may surprise some given how integral he has been to Bayern's successes in recent years.
However he fell out of favour with Tuchel this campaign, culminating in an angry exchange between player and assistant coach Zsolt Low after the recent defeat to VfL Bochum.
'One of you has to explain that to me,' Kimmich reportedly demanded after he was substituted in the 63rd minute of the game, his side still trailing 2-1 on the road in a game many would expect them to win.
Neuer was thought to have been required to mediate between Kimmich and Low, with the relationship between the midfielder and his manager thought to have finally fallen apart.
