Arsenal have work to do in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 encounter with Porto. The Portuguese champions will take a narrow lead to the Emirates Stadium next month following Galeno's 94th minute strike to separate the teams at the Estadio de Dragao on Wednesday night.
The Gunners enjoyed 65% of the possession in Porto and had almost douible the number of passes of their opponents. However, they did not manage a single shot on target and were penalised for 22 fouls in the match.
Manager Mikel Arteta was less than impressed afterwards, not just with his own team, but with some of the tactics from the home side. Speaking after the game he said: «We are very used to playing against these defensive blocks, especially in the first half we lacked certain things.
»We will learn from it and do better in the second game. The best thing about our team was the attitude. We wanted to play. We didn’t lack aggression. Faced with such a low block and a team with no intention of playing, this is what we have to do."
Porto boss Sergio Conceicao was calm in his post-match interview, but sent a blunt eight-word message to Arteta over his «no intention of playing» remark.
Conceicao said: «They wanted to play, we wanted to win.»

Arteta also referenced the number of free-kicks that were given in the match, with Declan Rice picking up a yellow card just two minutes into the contest. He said: «Even from set pieces as well every time we touched somebody it seemed to be a foul before we even kicked the ball. But we will learn and do better.»
