Misfiring Chiefs bow out of Nedbank Cup
Chiefs contacted Nabi – as was confirmed by the 58-year-old to this website, but the negotiations turned sour due to issues related to technical team staff that would have included Cedric Kaze as assistant, conditioning coach Helmy Gueldich, and analyst Khalil Ben Youssef.
Just after the failed talks with Chiefs, Nabi then took over at Moroccan champions ASFAR (FAR Rabat).
Seven months into the job, Nabi has taken FAR Rabat top of the standings with two thirds of the season played.
FAR Rabat have 46 points from 20 games with a one-point lead over Josef Zinnbauer and Fadlu Davids’ Raja Casablanca who have played one more game in the 30 games league season.
Rabat have lost twice and won 14.
Nabi won the double treble with Young Africans over the last two years while reaching the final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
