Ange Postecoglou was quick to tease Son Heung-min when football.london asked the attacker what he had made of the new Tottenham boss while the South Korean also emphatically shut down any talk of him leaving the north London club.
Son arrived in Australia before Tottenham's tour squad arrived on Saturday night, having flown direct from Korea in order to save him needing to undertake two long-haul flights across the world within a matter of days. So the 31-year-old has only begin working with Postecoglou in recent days, although the new Spurs head coach has admitted speaking to Son before.
The South Korea captain equalised against the then Postecoglou-managed Australia in the 2015 Asian Cup final to send the game to extra-time before the Aussies fought back to win.
When football.london asked Son what he had made of his early discussions with Postecoglou, while he was sitting next to the Spurs boss, the Australian quickly jumped in with a smile and said: «Only good things mate, only good things!»
A laughing Son then went on to say: «He’s been fantastic. We met for the first time in 2015. Obviously, we lost against Australia so that wasn’t the best but I could see in that time they were playing fantastic.
»I’m really looking forward to playing under the gaffer. The training has been fantastic, really sharp, everyone looks really happy with what the gaffer has said. Everyone is working really hard so I’m looking forward to it."
