Liverpool will face bitter rivals Manchester United in the next round of the FA Cup.
The Reds defeated Southampton 3-0 in their fifth-round tie at Anfield on Wednesday evening. Lewis Koumas opened the scoring before second-half substitute Jayden Danns scored twice in front of the Kop for Jurgen Klopp's side.
It was just a third senior appearance for Danns, following his previous cameos against Luton Town in the Premier League and Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final. Both strikes led to euphoric celebrations from the talented 18-year-old, who scored his first goals in senior football.
As a result of the win, Liverpool will now progress to the quarter-final of the FA Cup. Manchester United await in the next round after a late Casemiro goal saw Erik ten Hag's side win 1-0 away at Nottingham Forest.

The draw for the quarter-final of the FA Cup was made an hour before Liverpool faced Southampton. The Reds knew that victory against the Saints would lead to an away game against either Forest or Man United.
Now Liverpool know they will travel to Old Trafford to face United in the quarter-final. The game will take place the weekend of March 16 or 17, in what will be the Reds' final game before the international break. Liverpool were due to face Everton in the Merseyside derby on March 17, in a game that will now have to be rearranged.
Liverpool have a history of facing Man United in the FA Cup, but not for a few years. The last meeting in the competition came in January 2021 where the Reds lost 3-2 in the fourth round.
That remains Liverpool's only meeting
