Injured on international duty with Chile, Guillermo Maripán (29) could miss some of AS Monaco’s key fixtures ahead of the run-in.
Monaco have switched between a back three and a back four this season, but one constant is Maripán. As the most experienced of Les Monégasques; defenders, he continues to occupy a central role in Adi Hütter’s defence. However, that may not be the case in the coming weeks.
According to a report from Chilean media ADN, relayed by L’Équipe, Maripán has suffered a muscle tear, which could rule him out for a minimum of three weeks. Should the report be confirmed, Maripán would therefore miss some key matches. After FC Metz this weekend, the Principality club then face Stade Rennais, a rival for the European places.
Matches against Stade Brestois and Lille OSC then follow in late April; both are direct rivals for qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
