Ange Postecoglou's prediction regarding Kevin Muscat could be about to come true following links with the Rangers job.
talkSPORT understands thatthe Australian boss is interested in the job at Ibrox following the sacking of Michael Beale.
Should he be appointed, it would not be a shock to the Tottenham boss who tipped him to move to the UK during his appearance on talkSPORT in September.
Discussing Muscat, Postecoglou said: “Kevin’s a good man and he’s doing very well in Japan.
«Watch out for him, he'll be another one that comes across.
“[He’ll be] another Aussie that comes across here and breaks down some barriers.”
Muscat replaced Postecoglou as manager of Yokohama F. Marinos in 2021 when the latter was named as Celtic boss.
Since then, Muscat has led the side to the Japanese title by playing a fast-paced, attacking brand of football.
With the ex-defender having made 24 appearances for Rangers during the 2003/04 campaign, he's no stranger to the pressures of life in Glasgow and will be hoping to be in the running to replace Beale and get the club's season back on track.
Rangers currently find themselves seven points behind fierce rivals Celtic in third spot, with a 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen at the weekend proving to be the final straw as far as Beale's reign is concerned.
The Englishman joined the club 10 months ago after controversially leaving Queens Park Rangers just four months after being handed his big break in management.
Rangers chairman John Bennett said: „I'd like to thank Michael for his dedicated work since he rejoined the club as manager last November.
“It is clear that results have fallen well short of the board's, Michael's and our supporters' expectations.
»The search process for the new manager is already under way.
