Bruno Fernandes has named Pep Guardiola as the unequivocal best manager in the world.
The Manchester United captain believes that everyone in football nowadays 'wants to be' Guardiola and is unashamed in his praise for him.
He also explained how Jurgen Klopp has influenced his football through his passion and the way he has transformed Liverpool.
However, there was no room for a love-in on current Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, whose future is heavily in doubt after Sir Jim Ratcliffe's partial takeover.
'We are talking about the best coach in the world, without a shadow of a doubt. In recent years, he has been the best coach in the world,' Fernandes told A Bola.
The Portuguese outlet had put a quote from Guardiola to him which claims that: 'When Bruno has the ball you know something is going to happen.'
Fernandes added: 'He is probably the coach who most changed the game of football. Nowadays, everyone wants to be Guardiola, there's no need to hide that.
'All teams, from the second to the first divisions, everyone tries to play like City and everyone tries to find the dynamics that City has, because they have results and success.
'For me, having praise from a coach like Guardiola is something spectacular, because, as I said, we are talking about a coach that I really appreciate and who, for me, today, is the best coach in the world.'
Clearly, Fernandes had put aside any acrimony to praise a rival manager. In the Manchester derby in March 2020, he shushed the Manchester City boss after he threw a ball away from him before a throw-in.
