Everton and Liverpool will be looking to continue their progress in the Carabao Cup this evening as they face Aston Villa and Leicester City respectively.
The Blues are back at Villa Park, looking to avenge their Premier League defeat suffered at this ground last month, meanwhile the Reds side are home to Leicester and will fancy their chances of getting the better of the Foxes despite fielding a weaker team.
Should either Everton and Liverpool be involved in a contentious decision this evening, this will not be checked by VAR as the video technology is not utilised in the Carabao Cup until the semi-final stage.
This rule has been in place since the 2019/20 season and means teams could see poor decisions go against them in the rounds leading up to the final four of the tournament.

VAR was previously used in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup during the 2018/19 campaign, though the EFL decided to ditch the system the following season due to it only being available at Premier League grounds.
Klopp was left frustrated by this change during Liverpool's third-round clash with Manchester City last season, telling reporters after the 3-2 defeat: “If we have VAR, the refs are used to VAR and all of a sudden you tell them no... it looked like in a couple of situations they were waiting for or thinking VAR was still there but there was nothing.
“There were a couple of offside decisions where everybody in the stadium was convinced it was offside, I don’t know if it was in the end or not, and we couldn’t watch it back.
