Carrick Rangers goalkeeper Ross Glendinning had a few sleepless nights as he came to terms with the nightmare 9-0 thrashing dished out by Crusaders at Seaview in August but he’s convinced the horror show won’t be repeated.
It’s back to the scene of the crime on Saturday when the Gers return to the north Belfast venue.
On the day when Carrick confirmed that American senior business executive Michael Smith had acquired a majority shareholding in the club, the team suffered that horrible night at the office.
Ben Kennedy stole the show by hitting a sensational four goals in a dramatic 19 minutes.
Stuart King’s 10-man team were blown away by a stunning Crusaders performance – with Kennedy the tormentor in chief.
Kyle Cherry was dismissed on 24 minutes and further goals in Crusaders’ biggest home Premiership victory came from Paul Heatley, Philip Lowry, Billy Joe Burns, Jimmy Callacher and James Teelan.
At least Carrick won’t have to worry about Kennedy this time as the former Stevenage man has been placed on the transfer list.

Carrick, however, did respond in style after that heavy loss by earning a 3-3 draw at Linfield.
“I had nightmares about that, it was a freak game and they could have won by more goals,” reflects Glendinning.
“We were down to 10 men and awful, while they were very good. There’s a chance on Saturday to put that to bed and we only lost 1-0 to them at home.
