During a struggle of a second season under the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital consortium, worries have been voiced by many that follow the club with the supporters' trust highlighting a disconnection towards, «the majority of the team, the manager, the club ownership, and the board.» The Blues' men's senior side are currently 11th in the Premier League table.
In the first campaign under Boehly-Clearlake governing, Chelsea finished 12th, losing in the first round of both domestic cups, and meekly surrendered to Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals. The owners sacked two managers — something even Roman Abramovich's hire-and-fire system never turned to — including fan favourite Thomas Tuchel less than one month into the season, only to split with his replacement, Graham Potter, just half-a-year later.
Mauricio Pochettino has struggled to overturn the feeling at the club as well and has been widely booed by his own fans in recent weeks following a string of underwhelming performances.
