Chelsea's owners have once more found themselves at the centre of significant fan unrest after RC Strasbourg ultras made their clearest demonstration yet against the BlueCo group. Having penned a strongly worded letter earlier this month to the consortium that purchased the club in June 2023, a march against BlueCo has taken place in France.
Ahead of Strasbourg's home clash with Rennes, supporter group Ultra Boys 90 came out in their swathes to voice displeasure towards Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, and the other members of the ownership consortium. With relegation still possible for the Ligue 1 outfit, tempers have boiled over having bubbled on for much of the season.
Strasbourg fans have consistently made public opposition to BlueCo since their takeover last year with banners and chants against the American-based owners. It came to a head in early March when a letter was sent to the Chelsea chiefs urging a sale.
"'They want to meet you' was how Marc Keller [former Strasbough player and current president] put it when he announced the sale of the club last June," the statement started. «Months went by and, despite our reminders, none of BlueCo's shareholders came to see us.
