Chelsea drop 'accidental' new sponsor reveal ahead of Liverpool with major kit mistake

Chelsea have accidentally dropped a major hint that sports data company Infinite Athlete will be the club's new primary sponsor.

During the merge of sports technology startup Tempus Ex Machina and injury analytics firm Biocore, Infiinite Athlete was launched in a recent rebrand and it has major implications for what is to come for the Blues.

Chelsea announced a long-term, seven-year partnership with Tempus Ex Machina in April with the aim of delivering high quality digital output to the club's 5th Stand App and website. «Our fans deserve the best technology and our partnership with Tempus Ex will provide many features they have never seen before,» chairman and co-owner Todd Boehly said at the time.

«We believe passionately in the opportunity we have with Tempus Ex to reshape parts of the fan experience. We’re looking forward to sharing more in the coming months.»

Now, with the club still yet to announce a front-of-shirt sponsor following several hiccups with Paramount linked with a deal and widespread fan backlash seeing the end to talks with online gambling company, Stake, a final decision appears to have been made.

It was revealed last week that Infinite Athlete were closing in on a £50million ($64m) per season deal with the club to become the new shirt sponsors, replacing mobile giants Three, who split with Chelsea at the end of their contract in June 2023.

It has heaped financial pressure on the club after a 12 month period of turmoil in the transfer market and on the field as well. As of yet there hasn't been an official announcement of the deal, though.
