A Wirral chip shop is so popular customers travel from miles around to visit it.
We asked ECHO readers last year to tell us what they thought was the best fish and chip shop in Merseyside and one got hundreds more votes than the runner-up. Pisces Traditional Take Away in Milner Road, Heswall was voted as our readers' favourite - and is likely to be busy tomorrow as people seek out a Good Friday chippy tea.
Cos Michael, owner of Pisces which has been open for decades, said it was "great to be recognised". He told the ECHO about his years in the business - first started by his grandad in the 1960s. Cos, 39, who first got a taste of working in a chip shop when he was 10, said: "I'm the third generation in the business. It started in the early 60s with my grandad, then my dad took over after him.

"The business been passed down through the generations. I myself have been doing it 22 years. I used to come in to my dad's chip shop when I was like 10 and would peel potatoes.
"I've got two kids. They're just starting to help out now. It keeps them understanding the value of a job. My grandad has retired now, but when he comes back over for a short holiday he has to help out a little as well. He loves it. It's in the blood.
"We've been at Pisces now 22 years, though it's been a chip shop for about 70 years. It's great to be recognised. We've had quite a busy five years with awards since covid. We have got people who will travel five or 10 miles and will pass a lot of other chip shops just to get to us."
