Matthew Devine is itching for action but prepared to be patient at Crumlin Star after a slow start to life at his new club.
The former Larne Tech skipper pulled the curtain down on almost a decade at the harbour side last month to join the Star, and admits it was a wrench to walk away from Dennis Harvey Park after such a long association with the club.
However, now 26, and having turned down overtures from several clubs before, the Northern Ireland junior international felt things just aligned this time round.
The move opens up the prospect of cup finals and title tussles in the months to come, yet Devine had a fairly humble answer when pressed on what he wanted to achieve at the NAFL’s most successful side over the last decade.

“I just want to get into the team first to be honest,” he told the Belfast Telegraph.
“It’s not going to be easy and it’s not going to be handed to me, I’m going to have to fight for my place, especially the way (Star) have been going.
“But after that, yeah it’s about winning things. That’s what Crumlin Star set their sights on every year and I don’t see why this season should be any different.
