Fulham are preparing a new contract offer for defender Tosin Adarabioyo that could make him one of the best paid players at the club.
The centre-back's current deal runs out this summer and he has been free to talk to foreign clubs since January. He has attracted a number of enquiries with the likes of AC Milan and Marseille keen while Liverpool have also checked on his progress.
But now Fulham hope to convince him to stay with a tempting contract.
The 26-year-old, who had been open to leaving at the end of this season, has been a steady performer for Marco Silva this campaign despite the impasse over his future and his displays have put him on the radar of England manager Gareth Southgate.
Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite and Liverpool's Joe Gomez were given the nod in Thursday's England selection for forthcoming friendlies with Brazil and Belgium but Adarabioyo's stats have been comparing favourably with other leading English centre-backs despite only making 14 Premier League appearances after injury this season.
Earlier this month, Fulham manager Silva hailed Adarabioyo's contribution: 'In December, when it was really busy, he helped the team to reach a really good level. He is a really important player for us inside the football club.
'He is growing. He is a really good player and of course we always expect better things from him, and if he is going to be the case to go for the national team (then) even better, because it's always the ambition of a football player.'
