Harry Kane may be enduring his first difficult spell in Germany, but it appears not all is well in England too.
A statue in tribute to the England captain has been hidden in storage for years because his local council do not know where to place it.
In honour of the Walthamstow-born striker, it was announced in 2019 that Waltham Forest Council had plans to erect a piece of art in recognition of his feats.
That year and in 2020 they allocated £7,200 to have a sculpture made of the Chingford-raised footballer.
However, as reported by the BBC - the life-size figure of him sitting on a bench - is yet to be seen by the public.
It was planned for the statue to be installed on a platform at Chingford Overground station - but they were shelved following a risk assessment carried out by Transport for London.
Emma Best and Roy Berg, the Conservative councillors for Chingford's Endlebury ward who approved the project then rebuffed the idea of placing it in Ridgeway Park, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
A spokesperson for Kane, 30, said they were 'really excited' about the statue and hope it is unveiled 'in the coming months'.
'Especially with Harry being England and Tottenham's all time top goal scorer. It is what he deserves,' the spokesperson said.
'The location of the statue is really important to us and like Emma said we are having some issues at the moment, but when we get it right, we will be happy to go.'
For now though, Kane's immediate focus will be on arresting Bayern Munich's slide domestically and in Europe.
The German giants have lost their last three games in all competitions, including a 3-0 defeat at league leaders Bayer Leverkusen and have now dropped eight points behind them in the Bundesliga.
