Pep Lijnders has revealed how Liverpool are planning to cope without Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah for the coming weeks, stating: "No-one is irreplaceable here".
Salah missed Sunday's 2-0 win over Arsenal in the FA Cup and is set to be absent the rest of the month as a minimum, due to his involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations for Egypt. The 18-goal top scorer could miss seven games in total should his national side progress to the final in the Ivory Coast.
The Reds are also having to make do without vice-captain Alexander-Arnold for the rest of the month after Lijnders confirmed on Tuesday that the defender has suffered a knee injury that is likely to sideline him for an estimated three weeks at least.

Liverpool are also without Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic, Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas and Wataru Endo for Wednesday's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg with Fulham at Anfield, but assistant manager Lijnders says the squad can cope with the mounting list of absentees, however influential those on the shelf are.
“We have many weapons so there is no-one irreplaceable here," Lijnders said. "Mo goes away, Jota steps up. If the best players are not there and you play really well – the second half against Arsenal – then that's a really good sign and that's what we've always done.
"We don't rely on one, two, three or four players - we are missing four or five core players from our leadership group - Robbo, Trent, Mo - so that's a blow of course and he creates a lot of flexibility from the back and he can play passes that the forwards really like.
