Inside Tottenham return for Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr vs Brighton with Son Heung-Min hope

James Maddison has lifted the lid on what life is like at Tottenham with midfielder Yves Bissouma back at the club. The 27-year-old returned from the African Cup of Nations earlier this week after his Mali side were knocked out in the quarter-finals by hosts Ivory Coast.

Bissouma has been absent for Spurs since he was sent off against Nottingham Forest nearly two months ago. The former Brighton man was given two yellow cards during the game,it was the third time this season he has missed matches due to suspension.

He had to sit out the wins over Everton and Bournemouth over the festive period as well the 4-2 defeat in the reverse fixture against the Seagulls. He was away at AFCON for the FA Cup win over Burnley but that game ensured that his ban was carried out, meaning he is now set to play once more.

In Bissouma's wake Tottenham have been able to largely carry on their impressive work this term. Ange Postecoglou's men beat Brentford 3-2 last week as well as securing a 2-2 draw away at Old Trafford — though the performance warranted more. He comes back to north London with the team just seven points off the top and with a growing lead of Manchester United below them as well.

Aston Villa have started to show signs of faltering, making the upcoming matches even more important. For that, Postecoglou will be able to call upon the strongest squad he has had available in weeks.

Not only is Bissouma back at Hotspur Way, Pape Matar Sarr has also returned after his Senegal team were dumped out of AFCON as well. He played in the draw at Everton, coming from the bench as a substitute.
