Alexis Mac Allister insists he should have been awarded a penalty in the dying embers of Sunday's mouth-watering clash between Liverpool and Man City, after a controversial challenge from Jeremy Doku that has split opinion.
City and Liverpool played out one of the most pulsating and exciting games of the season on Sunday, the two sides unable to be separated for the second time this season at 90 minutes.
John Stones netted the opener for the visitors after some quick-thinking from Kevin De Bruyne from a corner, before Mac Allister levelled the scores for the hosts after the break from 12 yards.
With two titans of the league butting heads it was a game played with great intensity, and as such the final seconds threw up controversy, with Mac Allister floored inside the box by a high challenge from Doku.
Jurgen Klopp was convinced his side should have been awarded a spot-kick, with many agreeing with him, but Michael Oliver was not convinced and so City escaped without a late twist in the tail to what had been a fascinating game.
Replays appeared to show Doku's boot clipping some of the ball in the challenge, although he does make clear contact with the Argentinian midfielder's chest.
'We wanted more and I think we deserved much more than a point,' Mac Allister said of his side's performance at Anfield.
'I think the performance was very good, second half was amazing so very proud in that sense, but gutted that we didn't get the three points.'
But when asked whether he felt he should have been given a penalty late on, he responded: 'You think it's just me?
'I think it's a clear penalty, I cannot say much more I think the referee did a good job throughout the game but I think he made a mistake in the last decision.'
