Everton boss Sean Dyche has questioned why thePremier League's case againstManchester City had not been fast-tracked as Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham await the outcome.
City were charged last February with over 100 alleged breaches of competition rules over more than a decade. This would be one of the most serious scandals to hit the sport if proven.
The club insist they have an irrefutable body of evidence to clear their name. While most details of the case are secret, it has been confirmed that a date has been set for the panel hearing.
The hearing, originally scheduled for this Autumn, has now been delayed until the summer of 2025 at the earliest due to the sheer amount of evidence to be heard. Everton meanwhile, were handed an immediate 10-point deduction by an independent commission after being found guilty of breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) for the cycle ending with the 2021/22 season.
They were punished after overstepping the £105 million loss threshold over a three-year period, although the club are in the process of appealing that decision. Since then, the Toffees are facing further punishment for more recent admissions, while Nottingham Forest were also charged with breaches of the same rule.
As Everton prepares to take on City at the weekend, Dyche questioned why the reigning champions' charges are being treated differently than Everton. «Like everyone else, we are all just wondering what makes one rule for one and one rule for the other,» he said in his press conference.
