Siyabonga Ngezana’s chase for his first career silverware in only his first season since leaving Kaizer Chiefs is now within a stone’s throw after securing top spot in the Romanian top league.
As has become a weekly drill, Ngezana started and played 90 minutes for FCSB on Sunday night in the 3-2 win over FC Botosani.

With the latest three points it means FSCB have secured top spot with 58 points ahead of the play-offs.
Three games remain in the regular season with joint second placed teams CFR Cluj and Rapid Bucuresti tied on 48 points and only able to read 57 points if they win all their three remaining games.
Ngezana is moving as South Africa’s top performing export in Europe having now played 22 games for the 1986 European champions.
After the regular season, the Romanian campaign will then switch to the championship play-offs.

In that championship play-off, the points accumulated by the top six teams from the regular season are halved and those six teams then play against each other twice to determine the league winners who then qualify for the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds.
Ngezana is thirsty for his first career silverware after failing to win anything in the seven years he spent in the first team at Chiefs.
