Arsenal welcome Manchester United to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday for their highly-anticipated Premier League clash.
The north Londoners' perfect start to the 2023/24 campaign ended last week when they drew 2-2 at home to Fulham thanks to an 87th-minute striker from Joao Palhinha. Meanwhile, United found themselves 2-0 down after four minutes of their match against Nottingham Forest but they were able to turn their fortunes around, eventually winning 3-2.
Ahead of this weekend's huge encounter, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has been putting his players through their paces in training. So, football.london has summarised three things we've spotted from Saturday's training session at London Colney below.
Partey present
Rumours had circulated on social media that Thomas Partey sustained an injury in training earlier this week but the north London club then posted a picture, with the holding midfielder in one image (to the right of Eddie Nketiah).
However, the Ghana FA then confirmed that Partey had suffered an injury in training, presumably meaning the picture was taken earlier in the week. Partey was left out of Chris Hughton's squad for the upcoming international break, with a statement now released claiming that the 30-year-old could be out for a while with a groin issue.
It read: «Arsenal ace Thomas Partey is left out of the squad due to injury. According to his club, the player picked up an injury in training and could be on the sidelines for a while, however the Black Stars medical teams is monitoring the situation.»
A follow-up statement read: «He sustained a groin injury during training on Thursday, August 31, 2023. He is currently unavailable as Club Doctors predict he's likely to be out for a couple of weeks.»
