RB Leipzig chief questions Fabio Carvalho loan as Liverpool midfielder sent blunt message
RB Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schroder has accused Liverpool attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho of not being up for the battle in the Bundesliga.
The Reds talent signed for the German outfit in the summer, initially, until the end of the season. However, his spell was cut-short when Jurgen Klopp's side recalled the 21-year-old after just 158 of minutes in the German top-flight, making 15 appearances in all competitions.
Carvalho predominantly featured on the bench for Die Roten Bullen as he failed to usurp the likes of Dani Olmo and Lois Openda after Marco Rose opted to utilise him as a left-winger in his side.

The Portugal under-21 international completed a loan move to Hull City for the second-half of the season, following his disappointing spell in Germany. And the Leipzig chief has argued that Carvalho wasn't up for the battle to challenge for first-team football.
"We consciously chose Fabio last summer," he said, as quoted by RB Live. "He had a great season with Fulham in the English second division, which is very physical.
"We said to ourselves: great talent, good age, has already gained his experience. Still, you only get to know a player as an end product when he’s there.
"Fabio has a great character. But he realized: ‘Okay, there’s a competitor here, I have to do more!’ And we noticed that he didn’t want to face the competition.
"We asked ourselves the question: Do we feel more comfortable with a man or are we clear and straight and say: Listen, if you don’t want to go with us, then we’ll end the loan. You shouldn’t be afraid of a break-off."
