Chelsea captain Reece James has shared an update as he continues his comeback from injury. He posted a picture of his football boots and socks on Instagram yesterday, suggesting he may be back working on the training pitches at the Blues' Cobham base.
James had to have surgery after getting injured in a match against Everton at Goodison Park last year having managed only half an hour of action before leaving the pitch. The decision was made to operate on the player and he has been recovering since.
James is hoping to be fit for Euro 2024 at the end of the season. He's had fitness problems for over two-and-a-half years now, but early signs from his surgery suggest he could be back playing in around four months.

Chelsea might have to wait until late March or early April for James' return. After the international break in mid-March, he could possibly play when Chelsea face Manchester United on April 3 but that would mean James, along with Benoit Badiashile and maybe Thiago Silva, will miss the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool on February 25.
Last month, James shared an update on his progress: "In terms of my own situation, I'm progressing really well with my recovery, everyone's happy with how things are going at the moment," he said. "So, I'm in a good place and I can't wait to join the team again."
