Piers Morgan has poked fun at Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after Cristiano Ronaldo posted a picture of himself and Conor McGregor on Instagram.
The Portuguese footballing sensation and UFC superstar were seen sitting next to eachother during the 'Day of Reckoning' boxing event in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night.
McGregor and Ronaldo were seen chatting and joking during the event, as Anthony Joshua claimed an emphatic victory against Otto Wallin, while Deontay Wilder was beaten by Joseph Parker via a unanimous decision.
After the evening of action, Ronaldo posted a picture of him and McGregor in hysterics on his social media, captionning the Instagram 'Best caption wins!'
Morgan, who had interviewed the five-time Ballon d'Or winner before his explosive departure from Man United in 2022, subsequently took to Instagram to offer his caption, writing: 'Remember when Ten Hag said I was the problem at Man United...'
It was well documented that Ronaldo and the Dutch manager had fallen out during his final days at Old Trafford, with the 38-year-old admitting that he had 'no respect for Ten Hag'.
'I don't have respect for him because he doesn't show respect for me,' Ronaldo said before going on to claim that he felt betrayed by the manager.
'Some people, they don't want me here - not only the coach but the other two or three guys. Not only this year, but last year too.
'Honestly, I shouldn't say that. But listen, I don't care. People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.'
Following their power struggle, Ronaldo was axed by the club and subsequently moved to play for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
