Rodrygo hits back after racist insults: Racists are always active
Real Madrid player clashed with Lionel Messi and was insulted by Argentine fans
The heated clash betweenBrazil and Argentina continues to have consequences as Rodrygo has hit out at those racially abusing him online.
The Brazil international suffered abuse after he was involved in a tense moment with Lionel Messi.
The Real Madrid man reportedly called the Argentine side «cowards», and the World Cup-winning captain was not happy.
«We are the world champions, why are we cowards? Look at your mouth,» TyC Sports claim Messi retaliated.
Since then, fans of Argentina and Messi have hit out at Rodrygo online.
On Thursday evening and following his return to Europe, Rodrygo took to social media to post his thoughts.
«Racists are always active. My social media was invaded with insults and all kinds of nonsense. It's there for everyone to see!» Rodrygo posted on social media.
«If we don't do what they want, if we don't behave as they think we should, if we wear something that bothers them, if we don't lower our heads when we are attacked, if we occupy spaces that they think are theirs, racists take action with all this criminal behavior.
»But it's their bad luck, we will not stop!"
He joins his team-mate for club and country, Vinicius Junior, who has also suffered racist abuse at the hand of rival fans.
